Canadian cheers

Canadian spirits are the best way to celebrate the Canadian Spirit! For that reason, Toasted Bliss serves up two special cocktails to toast our joie de vivre.

Featuring Forty Creek Double Barrel Whisky, Grimsby, ON

Ingredients (yields 1 serving)

3 tbsps mint leaves (about 7 or 8 leaves)
1 lemon, cut in half
1 tbsp white sugar
1 ounce Forty Creek Double Barrel Whisky
Soda water
1 cup crushed ice


• Place the mint, lemon and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Muddle together until the sugar has dissolved and the lemon has expressed its juice.

• Add the whisky, cover and shake for 30 seconds. Transfer mixture to a short cocktail glass of your choice.

• Top with crushed ice, a splash of soda water and garnish with a sprig of mint and a lemon wedge or wheel.


Featuring Georgian Bay Vodka, Collingwood, ON, and Muskoka Brewery Lager, Bracebridge, ON

Ingredients (yields 1 serving)

1 lime wedge
1 lemon wedge
1 tbsp celery salt, or to taste
Ice cubes, as needed
1 dash Worcestershire sauce, or to taste
1 dash Tabasco, or to taste
8 ounces Clamato
1 celery stick
1 to 2 strips of crispy bacon
1 ounce Georgina Bay Vodka
1 ounce Muskoka Brewery Lager


• Wet the rim of a cocktail glass (for fun, use a mason jar) with the lime wedge; set aside for garnish.

• Place celery salt in a flat dish and press the rim of the glass into the salt to coat. Add ice to the glass.

• Pour 1 ounce of the Georgian Bay Vodka, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce over the ice.

• Top with Clamato juice, leaving room for the ounce of Muskoka Brewery Lager.

• Add the ounce of Muskoka Brewery Lager and give it a quick stir.

• Garnish with lime and lemon wedges, celery stick and bacon.
